I just got this question in mind. We talk about chasing God but i wonder how do we do that every day?

I noticed there aren't any replies to this! Well..chasing God is all-out pursuing Him, His truth, His care for us, His involvement in every part of our daily life. You start by being a real (born-again) believer; receive the baptism w/ the Holy Spirit so you'll have the power to live the life you now have. Develop a healthy prayer life (every chance you get!), get into the Word daily, fellowship w/ other believers on a regular basis, and surrender everything you ARE and everything you HAVE...to Him, as many times a day as you need to. A lot of folks don't have a real desire to seek God, but if we ask Him, He'll even provide that too. Phil 2:13 says, "For it is GOD who works in you, both to will (desire) and to do (behave/act)of His good pleasure." Depend on Him to do it THROUGH you, and not on your own strength (that wears out fast, but His is eternal). In Pursuit, Cindy

Hey, donkeywbl, how's that chase coming along? I advised a friend some time back about this. I told her to "go on a beggin' campaign" w/ God! Not that we have to "beg" from God the very things He desires for us; but prayer changes US, and gets our desires in line w/ His. Keep asking till He provides the desire. He doesn't play games w/ His kids: He'll never require or ask anything of us unless He provides the ability to do so. And make sure you're in the Bible and in prayer daily. In Pursuit, Cindy

Hello Beloved, I was reading.. the questions and the comments.. and I want to bring truth to something... You don't have to pray for the holy spirit to come into your life... It is an erroneous teaching that is out there....When you ask for forgiveness of all your sins.. when you acknowledge that Jesus endured grave pain and hardship ...that he died to fullfill prophecy and fullfilling the mosaic law....to pay once and for all debtedness of sin ( Which is death)... That Jesus went to hell... Took the keys to life and death... and opened a place in heaven for all who believe and receive Him as Lord of all in their lives.... When you do this... You are saved... You automatically receive the Holy Spirit. For it is the Spirit of God that leads one into all truth... He is the counselor that was promised to come///A person can walk in power... once they are saved... that is all it takes...Seeking a genuine relationship with the triune God...reading the Bible... Learing its truth and applying it to your daily life... not merely believing what someone says... but searching the truth out for your self...hiding its word in your heart...being teachable...daily learning to let go of you and grab ahold of Him... this is a life of truth and power....Godly power cannot be separated from the truth..so please be careful... there is a lot of deception going on... Jesus warned us of this...just because you see miracles... doesn't mean it is God....too many have left their first love seeking signs and wonders...and missing the truth.. missing relationship... they have become decieved... Gods miracles come in an atmosphere of repentance... and humility...not in any other way lest any man should boast...Seek the truth..Beloved... Laying at his feet... listening to Him... loving on Him and letting Him love on you..being quick to repent...being humble....this is the true chase...in doing this... He pursues you..."His desire is for you.." Song of songs.... Your Fellow Servant in Christ, Glory This message was edited by Gal56b1 on 6-15-05 @ 1:20 AM

I chase with passion seeking His presence and His voice for example I'll be walking through the store and I'll see a t-shirt with apicture of Jesus on it and I'll stop the person whose wearing it and ask them what does your shirt say I'll go out of my way to hear His voice, not to long ago I heard music out my back of my house and even though understand the words they were singing it spoke to my sprit I knew it had something to with Him ,so I was immeditaly in pursuit not even letting my uncomfortableness get in the way nothing mattered but Him not what people thought nothing and guess what I for a second caught Him,and as usual I was longing for home. This is not true what you said about the Holy Ghost. It is true when you receive Jesus as savior and Lord You receive Jesus. But if you read through the book of Acts you will find the Apostles going to such and such a place who have already received John's baptism the salvation baptism with water. The Apostles asked them have you received the Holy Ghost, they said and I quote "We have never heard that there was a Holy Ghost. They then laid hands on them and the Holy Ghost was imparted to them. Let me use Mosaic tabernacle illustration. In the Outer Court there was the altal of sacrifice which is symbolic of the cross. The Outer Court is symbolic of your conversion experience, you receive Jesus not the Holy Ghost. With further seeking you enter the Holy Place and then you receive the Holy Ghost and the power of God, and even the gifts of the Holy Ghost. Then with further seeking you enter the Holy of Holies and receive fire baptism and enter the realm of God the Father and the Holiness of God, and all the fruit of the Holy Ghost. If you have any queastions on this subject I could try to back and look at some scriptures to give any of you. It may take a while but you really need to read the Book of Acts because there were different people there who did not receive the Holy Ghost but they received John's baptism unto repentence. I must say that it is not so much that when you are born again the Holy Ghost does not come in to live within you, but until you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost you will not have any power to walk in. Jesus said "That when the Holy Ghost is come upon you, you will receive power." Acts 1:8. Again if there are any queastions you can contact me at garyldeatonjr2004@yahoo.com Thanks and I love all of you here at God Chasers. With warm love to everyone

What Elisha said about receiving the Holy Spirit is correct: He DOES take up residence in us when we get born again. But being baptized with the Holy Spirit is a separate experience. Look at it this way: say you have a pitcher of water and a glass. You pour water into the glass - getting saved. But then you put the glass into the pitcher and it not only contains water, but is surrounded by it - baptized with the Holy Spirit. In Pursuit, Cindy
