In Chapter 3 of The God Chaser's, Tommy Tenney states that God is looking for a bride without spot or wrinkle and that He has already left one bride at the altar and he can do it again. Who or what is the bride that He has already left at the altar?

This is likely referring to the Israelites. At Mt. Sinai, God wanted to interact DIRECTLY w/ them, but they were too afraid so insisted Moses deal w/ Him for them. This is not to say God ever turned His back on His people, or that He is through w/ Israel! It's just that they turned down the greatest offer in all of history, so God had to deal w/ them as it unfolded in the Old Testament. But thank God, Jesus came to undo that necessity, and we can KNOW Him for ourselves!!! In Pursuit, Cindy
