i want to serve and please God, but i have a problem of repeating the same sin over and over, i have asked God for help, but i still continue repeating the same sin. can someone please advise me what to do

          i appreciate your help

more info...  		The best way to stop sin is to get God because then sin becomes less important.
You know the story about Elija on mount carmel?
He calls 450 Baal prophets to build an altar and call fire from their God to burn it for them.
The baal prophets were unsucessful.
Elija then made an altar and poured water all over it. He then called on God to burn it. God burned the offering and all the water sand and rocks that surounded it.
No matter how much water or sin you have in your life if you call out to God desperately and get his fire sin is no match. You must die to all those sins and that life for the fire of God to come. Say to God "I give up anything of myself just to have you, I am desperate for a touch of you. If you don't come I will EXPLODE."

Be empty, So you can be full.

more info...  		Yes, u need to tell yourself "no longer will i commit that sin"..i had the same problem. then i found God. i had known Him, or so i thought..then i MET Him. the real deal. now i can look sin- and satan- in the face and laugh. dont be afraid.set your mind to eliminating the sin from your life 4 good. ask God to help you, and He will..but you have to mean it.

I think you know this already, but there it is anyway. But, you cannot eliminate the addiciton without the power of the holy spirit in your life. However, I do believe you play your part in your recovery from addiction. I know this phrase isn't entirely biblical, however, it is a principle you can find in the bible. "God helps those who help themselves".

Here are some questions:

Do you really want to be free from this addiction?
How desperate are you?
Have you invited God in the issue?
Are you taking neccessary steps to help yourself from this addiction?
How are you praying? how frequent? If you are serious, God will be serious with you!

Suggestions:
Find people to be accountable to. Share with them, pray with them. Fast on your addiction. I believe in the power of prayer and fasting. (let me know if you are willing to fast, I'll suggest something..). Read the word of God, find passages that you can use to fight the 'urge' to sin if it comes. Use those times of urges as a time of prayer.

All in all, you have to be determined to break loose of sin. No one can do it for you. Only God, with your coorporation alone can release you from your bondages.

Remeber that HIS grace is sufficient for you, But also...there's the law of God. The fear of God should be reason to not violate HIS laws. But, there's grace if you do. Just try not to lean on either (grace vs. law) extreme.

However, remember, recovery gradually happens and thus, can take time. Be patient and OBEDIENT!!!

more info...  		hey wuz up?!?! ya i know how it is being addicted to sin. i was definately addicted to a VERY bad sin. neways wut helped was readin Romand 6,7 and 8. that talks about sin. im not tryin to put words in yur mouth or nething but in scripture it says that whoever rejects Gods instruction is rejecting God and i know that yu dont want to do that. God loves you very much and He wants to help you in overcoming this sin and He will if you let Him. You have to really want this sin gone. pray that God will give you the strength to be able to let go of this sin and that He will take the desire to do it out of your heart and to forgive you for it. more info...  		Thank you guys for your encourangement and word of advice. i asked God for help, and let him do everything, i fully let go and said there is no way i will leave this sin, it up to you God to do it by yourself coz i have tried and there is no way. do it for your own glory. let it be known you are the one who delivered me with your power not me. and after a few days god made me feel bored of doing that sin, soon i got bored doing the sin and i say it has now been days and i havent sinned that sin. i give all thanks to God, now he has given me another desire that iam running for, knowing his holyspirit personally. i thank God. Praise God the Almighty my deliverer

A word of advice to those addicted to sin, never say you will get yourself out of the sin, dont try getting yourself of the sin by your own power coz you wont, it is imposible. you have to leave it all to God, pray and he will tell you what to do and deliver you, He is your deliverer. Thank you God

more info...  		Well my name is Diane and i would like to admit that i am addicted to sin right now i have tried so many times to stop and each time i made a bit of progress something bad would happen and i would be back to square one.  therefore i also need help in that area.  please...

more info...  		whazz up diane?? i know what u are talkin about bcoz i was also in that same spot but let me share with you what i did to get me out of that hole ....u know (i guess !!)that tha first step in solvin a problem is accepting that there is a problem ,look at this -jesus called peter while he was still a fisherman ,He called levi while he was still a tax collecter ,the same way God is calling you just as you are that He may make you what he wants you to be,`come unto me all you that are heavy laden and i will give you rest'said JESUS. AND i am sure that he meant what he said and said what he meant....SO it's time to go to God just as you are with a desire to change and as sure as his throne is HE WILL SET YOU FREEEEEE!!!!![DO THIS AND WATCH GOD MOVE LIKE NEVER BEFORE]

more info...  		a thing that i found that worked for me is when i come up to that sin i stop and think what do i want more? God, and all he has to offer along with spiritual and emoational growth and self respect? or do i want this temporiary sin to only feel guilty about later?   and how badly do i want to please God or the devil?  remember the only way to achieve anything is through God.

more info...  		Jesus said to repent and believe the gospel.  Repent is to turn from (completely).  He has not left us to resist the devil on our own.  We do not have to give in to the flesh (sin).  When we ask in faith believing, God is faithful and just.  Romans 8 is an encouragement to me.  When we believe God's word is written to us, it makes a difference.  God cannot lie and He has promised us so many things in His word.  It is good to ask oneself if you would do whatever you are tempted to do, if Christ were beside you observing -  well, if you have asked Him, He is in you by His Spirit.

Tho my sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.
