hello fellow god chasers

i have been thinking alot about contentment today. it seems to me(and i could be wrong) that many believers are not in a state where they are content with what God has already blessed them with. they always want more they always want bigger. i am not saying that anything is wrong with wanting the best but we take things for granted sometimes. sometimes we fuss because we cant get the things we want when we don't really need them. how many people are not blessed with half of the things that we have. a person with five shoes will fuss behind another shoe until he sees a man with no feet. brothers and sisters i know we have need but let us be content with what we have already. let us be grateful to God. Godliness with contentment is great gain. Paul was able to live in whatever state he found himself in. let us try. besides half of the things we fuss for aren't even necessarySmile

Praise be to God for the little miracles.  I agree that we should look at what we have and rejoice.  What you are saying is very true.  Contented in His ways should be enough.  We should rejoice over the little things.  Each day has its own reward.  God is our all in all.
Peace in Jesus,
Terri

Hi guys

I agree but I didn't always.
Unfortunately, it took a near death experience for me to do so.

I woke up this morning, God gave me another chance to start all over.

His mercies are new every morning.

Lets start there.  Smile

"Rejoice.....

...and again I say rejoice"

Sad but true: we so often don't look past our own concerns and get selfish without even realizing it. May God forgive and have mercy on us...

Not being content is a symptom of "self" being in charge of us and not the Holy Spirit. The more we learn to give up our will and rule of ourselves, the more He can remain on the throne of our heart and we will enjoy Him so much, the things we "don't have" won't matter!

We give up to have, lose to win, die to live...

In Pursuit, Cindy

Hi air (that's a good name)

I agree that when it comes to contentment of material things we need to simply be grateful for what we have been blessed with.

But when it comes to spiritual things like more of God, or more of a hunger for him, or righteousness...I have, and I would guess many others do too, great discontentment.  It's a good thing then.

so there's my 2 bits.

blessings

Yeah, it seems like every time I start to forget the blessings he has given me, he gently reminds me.  I'll see someone who is the way I used to be or I'll remember things I had nearly forgotton.  It's amazing how that works.  God is good, and he has brought me from near death and homelessness.  I had no idea where I was going to get my next meal or if I would see another day.  God has always taken care of me, and I couldn't Love him more.  I get so sick and tired of everyone constantly asking for more and more stuff.  The stuff doesn't really matter.  It's God that matters.

All the best,
Jen
