AMEN AND AMEN brother in Christ!

   However....
From a posting of mine in Elisha's Fast Food
Restaurant dated 8/3/02....
I do not think we have a greater anointing.  I think we have a different anointing.  The Word says we are to submit to one another in love.  we are all one body.  One is the eye and one is the mouth and one is the hand, etc.  We are dependent on one another

   From Webster's Collegiate Dictionary:
Anoint:  means to apply, DESIGNATE, consecrate...smear on...

According to Torrey's New Topical Textbook:
  Sacred Anointing...consecrates to God's service.

Anointing of the Holy Spirit...is from God and saints receive.

  According to Nave's Topical Bible:
  Anointing oil...formula given by Moses.

Anointing...of the body, of sick, of dead, of Jesus as a token of love..
  Saints receive..
  Consecrates priests, prophets, tabernacles
Figurative for spiritual gifts and of Christ priestly and kingly anointing.
  Symbolical of Jesus.

In other words anointing is a general term that can be used in different ways.  For instance priests and prophets were anointed, dead bodies were anointed, Jesus feet was anointed.   No one said it was a different spirit!!!!!!!

I was answering Emmanuella when she asked what the Elisha anointing was.  YOU are the one who stated it was a greater anointing and I answered you with the above statement.

Now there are differences in gifts, the gift of healing is different than the word of wisdom etc.  The Word says this:
"Now their are DIVERSITIES of gifts but the same spirit."
   But also the Word says this;
"And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profil withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit.
    To another working of miracles. to another prophecy, to another discerning of Spirits, to another divers kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues;
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He (the Holy Spirit) will."  1 Corinthians 12

"But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him.  And if they were all one member, where were the body?  But now are they many members, yet but one body." 1 Corinthians 12:18-20
"There should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.  And whether one member suffer, all members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.  Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular.
And GOD hath set in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."  1 Corinthians 12:25-28
"But covet earnestly the best gifts; and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way." v31
And the Word goes on to say in chapter 13 that none of these things mean anything if we have not love...
"Love suffereth long and is kind; love envieth not, love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up..."

Some scripture giving different anointing uses:
  See 1 Ki 19:16
      Exd 40:13
      Luke 4:18
      Hbr 1:9

The Anointing operates in and through believers because it has authority to do so.

You may recall a time when the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to Jesus questioning him about authority.

Mark11:28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things?  and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

Verse 29-30  And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.  The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?  answer me.

In verse 33, they answered Jesus by saying, “We cannot tell”.

What I find interesting about this discussion between Jesus and the priests is this;  they didn’t answer Jesus’ question, but if they had, they would have answered their own question at the same time.

Jesus authority came from the fact that he was a man, born of a woman, born into this earth, who was anointed by God to do the work and the will of God.  John the Baptist also was also a man born here in the earth, anointed by God to do His work and His will. Being born here on earth gives us legal authority to be here on the earth.  And it gives us legal authority to command the things here on earth.  God, in Genesis, gave that authority to us, and God never rescinded that authority.  The fallen angels are illegal aliens here.  They don’t have authority to do anything here on earth.  And if they do anything they do it illegally.  This is the reason that spirits want to posses people.  It’s when they possess a person that they are able to operate here on the earth.  That person that is possessed has legal authority to be here and thus, through that person that spirit has authority to do their evil deeds.

One of the few times that Jesus marveled was when he met a certain centurion.

The account is in Luke 7:1-10.  The centurion had a servant that was sick, and he sent word to Jesus that his servant was dying.  When Jesus approached the house the centurion sent some friends to give him a message.

Luke 7:8  For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

It was at this point that Jesus stopped what he was doing and turned to the crowd and used the example of the centurion’s understanding of authority to help them (and us) to better understand how, faith works.

Knowing who we are in Christ, and knowing what our authority is through Christ puts us in a position for the anointing to flow through us.

However, someone once said, “Knowledge, without experience sometimes leaves room for doubt”.
