Awakening

Lord, You know I’ve struggled for such a long time now.
I’ve tried to change my life around but I’ve never known quite how.
Till I prayed for You to change me - to tear down every wall.
To break the ties that bound me…and to answer to Your call.
You watched me as I struggled to change things on my own;
To see that I was reaping what, through my life, I’d sown.
I’m sure that You felt sorrow as You waited patiently;
Till the day that I surrendered when You said, “Give it all to Me.”
“Let Me be King upon the throne, the Provider for your needs;
Let My Holy Spirit speak to you and follow where it leads.
Let Me heal you from your sickness - for My blood has paid the price;
Eternal life was given for My perfect Sacrifice.
Trust not in man…not words nor deeds…for man trusts what he sees;
But trust in Me and in My Word, for I am He who frees.
I will bring you peace, and comfort you in pain;
When you, My child, ache inside, My tears will be the rain.
In your times of trials when your lonely and afraid,
Remember I am with you - and the covenant we made.
For I shall leave you never - I dwell within your heart;
You were created in My Image - I knew you from the start.
Come to Me, My child - My arms are open wide;
I’ll guide your steps and keep you safe - forever by your side.”
Lord, my heart’s been opened to receive Your Spirit’s touch;
My eyes can see, my ears can hear - You’ve given me so much.
I long to follow You, Lord - to serve You day and night;
Within a world of darkness may I always shine your light.
Of all the things I’ve longed for, I know when this life is done,
The only thing that will matter to me is to hear You say, “Well done.”
