Around 4 and a half years ago I went through the trial of a lifetime. I had terrible depression. It felt like life was worthless and meaningless. I just wanted to die. I was saved and born again a few months before I went through this. I was so confused as I was going through this. In the spring of 1998 I went to a different church, and grew a lot at this church, but I still struggled with depression. Eventually the depression got so bad that I felt like I was going to fall apart. It felt like a dark cloud that rested on me. I barely could get out of bed in the morning, and frankly I did not want to get out of bed. I had a friend, and his name was Bob Young. He has always told me to read the Word of God everyday, and meditate on the Word of God. I did not always listen to him, because I felt so bad. I would read the Word a little, and I would put it down, because I didn't notice it helping that much. I didn't give up though. I kept at it, and I would praise God when I would feel even a little anxiety. I noticed that when I felt that anxiety come on me, and I would praise God the anxiety would leave. The depression would leave. However, there came a time when the depression was really bad worse than ever before. I had people praying for me at my church of which I was not totally aware. The depression eventaully left. Then the following year the depression came back with the same intensity as the year before. This time I was not going to let it stay, because I waw sick and tired of it. I started praising God, and even shouting at the top of my lungs in my church sanctuary when I was alone. After a few minutes I felt it leave. Then it came back a few minutes later. Little by little as I did not give up the depression wasn't as strong, and today I feel a lot better, and that dark cloud is gone. I praise God that He delivered me from this dark cloud.

Your testimony...encouraged me so much that I remember this is... HE is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End! His ways are right, His word is eternal, His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me. He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior, He is my guide, and He is my peace! He is my Joy, He is my comfort, He is my Lord, and He rules my life! I serve Him because His bond is love, His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life. I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise, The power of the powerful, The ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, The leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and The sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come. And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size. His goal is a relationship with ME! He will never leave me, Never forsake me, Never mislead me, Never forget me, Never overlook me, and Ever cancel my appointment in His appointment book! When I fall, He lifts me up! When I fail, He forgives! When I am weak, He is strong! When I am lost, He is the way! When I am afraid, He is my courage! When I stumble, He steadies me! When I am hurt, He heals me! When I am broken, He mends me! When I am blind, He leads me! When I am hungry, He feeds me! When I face trials, He is with me! When I face persecution, He shields me! When I face problems, He comforts me! When I face loss, He provides for me! When I face Death, He carries me Home! He is everything for everybody, everywhere, Every time, and every way. He is God, He is faithful. I am His, and He is mine! My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world. So, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this... He said it and that settles it. God is in control, I am on His side, and That means all is well with my soul. Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is! Isn't that just GOOOD & THRILLING? The Lord is Awesome In His Love & Faithfulness even whilst we are unfaithful and unbelieving!!!! Yours In The Vineyard, Amareno "As the deer panteth after the waterbrooks, so panteth my soul after thee oh Lord" (Psalm 42:1)

God bless you for sharing your testimony. There are so many dear souls going through this very thing. Your testimony is like a light shining through the thickness and darkness of a fog, showing the way to the ONE who loves us.
Godspeed

Eight Proofs that Healing is For Today by Larry Ollison There are two great truths regarding healing: All good gifts come from God and that includes health and healing All bad and evil gifts come from Satan. Satan is the destroyer and Jesus is the Deliverer. With this in mind, I received a letter from a man in Paragould, Arkansas, who made this comment; he said, "I agree that health comes from God and that infirmities come from the devil, but how can we be assured that healing from God is for us today, in the 21st century?" This man has a valid point asked by many, so today I would like to quickly give you eight reasons or eight ways we can know that healing is for us today. Number one: Jesus redeemed us from the curse of sickness. Galatians 3:13 says, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us...." And John 3:14 says, "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." Number two: Healing was prophesied. In Isaiah 53:4-6 we find the prophecy and in Matthew 8:16-17, the fulfillment of the prophecy, where the prophet Isaiah said Jesus would take our sicknesses and carry them for us. That means Jesus paid the price for us. He took our sicknesses so that we could be healed. Number three: Believers are the Body of Christ. As a part of the body, we are healed. Jesus is not sick today. He has paid the price and we are a part of His body. First Corinthians 12:13 and 27 tell us that as Christians, we are a part of His body. Number four: Jesus has not changed. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." He healed in the past and He heals today. Number five: Believers are commanded to heal the sick. Jesus said in Mark 16:18 that those who believe would, "lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Would Jesus command us to do something that was not for us to do? Of course not. We must obey His command. Number six: "Gifts of healings" is a gift of the Holy Spirit. First Corinthians 12:9 tells us that this gift is for the "Spirit-filled" believer. Number seven: Sick believers are commanded to ask for healing. James 5:14 says, "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him." If healing were not for us today, then sick believers would not be required to call for prayer to be healed. Number eight: Jesus promised that we would receive what we asked for. In John 14:13, Jesus said, "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name I will do it." Is healing from God for today? Yes, of course it is. Are there phonies out there making money and fame off of healing? Yes, there always have been. Not much has changed since the time of Jesus. But that doesn't mean that God's true healing power is not for you today. Know the truth. God's will for you is health.

Hi sweetlove. Your testimony was one of true victory. Similar to what I have been going through. For knowledge's sake it is good to understand that any time the enemy fights so hard in your life the reward is usually major and he wouldn't want you to have it. This reminds me of a stage in intercession known as Travail. There are 3 stages identification, spiritual warfare and Travail(This is almost like the labour pains at birth and they become intense but if you perservere the result joy in a newborn). Look for examples in the bible. Joseph travailed for almost 13yrs and at the end of it his dream was lived. And so did Jesus. It's good that The Lord helped you through. Just so you know...
keep on pressing on in the pursuit of God.
