Dear GodChaser
It is a New Year – 2008!
God, in His wisdom, broke time into segments – years, months, and days. Have you ever considered how exhausting and unbearable life could become if it was one long day with no breaks? Or, if it was one long night with no dawn?
Problems looming in the darkness can seem different by the light of morning. We anticipate the changing of time and seasons as opportunities to change circumstances. January always brings our thoughts to change for the better.
Every new day, new week, new month and new year brings new hope – a chance for a fresh start, a new beginning, to find your way to a better life and to the things that really matter.
My new book, Finding Your Way,is like a mental, emotional, and spiritual road map back to the things that really matter with family, friends, God and character.
During the holidays, my family enjoyed a special reunion. My father’s only sister and her family joined our extended family for a wonderful few days. Old stories were exchanged; old pictures were introduced to the younger generation. Laughter, tears, and hugs were plentiful. What a sense of belonging – a deepening of roots – a sense of who you are and where you come from. These were treasured moments of life, what really matters. It has been many years since we had all been together at the same time and place, but the sense of belonging made us a unit immediately.
I also recently spent some time with a very special group of children (click here for an update), who are being raised in an orphanage in South America. Click here to support our mission’s outreach. Being with these kids helped me to realize how truly valuable family is. You sometimes don’t realize the value of something until you don’t have it. I saw in the faces of these precious children such a sense of need. I would have loved to bring them all home with me!! I then thought of a line in my new book:
Too often in life we know the price
of Everything but the value of nothing.
Let’s not be guilty of undervaluing our families in this new year. Our mobile society has often made it difficult for families to stay close to each other geographically, but with God’s help and through His Word, there can be a bonding with those who matter much to us. One of the warmest times of our reunion was when we gave testimonies, sang and prayed together. The years and miles of separation melted away. I want this for the coming generation and for those who have not connected with their heritage. For this reason I am delighted that Finding Your Way…to things that really matter is available now – this month. Click here for more on this book. Read it yourself to renew your precious values. Give it to someone whose life needs more of an anchor. The Apostle Peter warned those in his generation to save themselves from an untoward generation – a drifting, unanchored generation. I pray this book will help many find their way to things that really matter in life. If you have not taken the time to sign up for the 30 days of a thought for the day from this book—PLEASE do so now! Click here to sign up! The cover design on this new book shows a GPS (Global Positioning System) device. We have become so familiar with these devices in my family that we hardly know how to read a map! We just enter the address of our destination and we can easily find our way to anywhere! Using this GPS is what made me start considering writing this book. I got to thinking how nice it would be to have an EPS—Eternal Positioning System!! Then I suddenly realized, we do—The Word of God! There are so many wonderful stories in the Bible that point us in the right direction. Culture has changed since Biblical times—geography has been altered—but people still have fundamental needs regardless of where they live geographically or chronologically.
I use the ancient story of Ruth and Naomi as they make their way back to things that matter after losing so much in Moab. I don’t want to tell you too much before you read the book—but I want you to know, you too can find your way back to what is important. No one has journey too far that God isn’t able to lead you back home.
Thank you for praying for me and my family and ministry. My prayer this January is that you will find God’s voice easy to hear and your way clearly marked as you begin a new year in His service.
Let’s continue the chase together!

PS…I want you to read this testimony that came to me. And I want to make available the book she is referring to, How To Be a GodChaser and a KidChaser. I think it would be a great way to start the New Year by concentrating on your family. My mom and I co-wrote this book and I know it will be a blessing to you. Also, my 2 new books on Ruth are a wonderful way to start a New Year. They are both about the values of family. The Road Home is a fiction book Click here to order and Finding Your Way is the non-fiction book. Click here to order! Order these books today!
I bought your book “God Chaser’s and Kid Chaser’s”. I was blessed. I loved the little stories and encouragement it was to me. I especially like stories from your mother. Being a mother of 4 myself I could relate to some of what she was saying. I read the book when our 4 children are all grown up. It would have been easier if I would have read the book when the children were younger, but my heart wasn’t in the right spot. However, my husband and I know Jesus now and trust Him fully. We have been given a promise in a dream that all of our children will be saved.
I have been praying the 31-Day prayer guide that is in this book for the past year and half. I love the claiming of a spirit and the prayer declarations, but most of all the scripture that goes with it. I have wept and laughed over these verses, on a regular basis for the past 2 years. I have used it as a guide to pray for the backslidden children of church families and friends. I have and am claiming the lives of the next generation for Jesus. Their hearts and souls are a deep cry of my heart. I love praying the word, so thank you so much for this guide and the book.
I know some day all my children will be serving Jesus. Thank you so much for being obedient to Jesus. May, Jesus continue to bless you as you continue to chase after Him!
Blessings,
